The National Congress fully approved and dispatched to enactment the National Reconstruction and Economic Development and Social Progress bill, following support from both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. With this step concludes a legislative process built on agreements, bringing together different political sectors around a common response for the fire-affected regions and the country's economy.

Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz highlighted that "with this law that concludes its legislative process today, Chile begins to grow again. Chile opens its doors once more to investment, entrepreneurship, and progress."

He also stressed that "we are opening doors once again to expectations of personal and family development, to greater employment opportunities for youth, adults, men, women, and heads of household."

He added that "this is a day of optimism and great joy, but tomorrow we continue working, because the work ahead is demanding, always for Chile and with our hearts fully committed."

The full dispatch of the bill was completed once a joint committee refined the final aspects of the text, whose report was ratified by both chambers. With this, each of the bill's provisions is now fully defined.

The future law is organized around five pillars. The first is reconstruction of areas affected by wildfires in Ñuble, Biobío, and Valparaíso, so families can recover their homes and neighborhoods. The second is reactivation of the construction sector, so the industry returns to building and hiring, dynamizing the housing supply for Chilean families. The third is restoration of tax competitiveness, so that investing and entrepreneurship in Chile becomes attractive again. The fourth is regulatory streamlining, to unlock stalled investment projects that can be sources of opportunity for the country's regions. And the fifth is fiscal responsibility, so that public resources are used efficiently.

The result reflects extensive legislative work, supported by dialogue between the Executive and the sectors represented in Congress. Throughout the legislative process, observations arising from that exchange were translated into amendments that enriched the initiative and gave it broad support.

On this point, the minister emphasized that "I want to thank, on behalf of President Kast's government, the arduous work of all parliamentarians who worked on, discussed, and improved this bill—both from the government and, on many occasions, from the opposition as well—and who kept their eyes fixed on Chile's wellbeing, beyond particular or partisan interests."

With the bill's dispatch, the Ministry of Finance will focus its work on the implementation stage, in coordination with the relevant agencies, so that each measure is rolled out within the defined timeframes.

The Ministry of Finance will continue rolling out initiatives to recover economic growth, drive investment, and create more and better jobs, with a clear horizon: generating greater opportunities for Chilean families. In projecting the continuity of this agenda, the minister affirmed that "after this initiative will come more, all directed toward continuing to recover the lost path of progress and growth."
